Great math ! something i am not so great at, simply a high school education for me, but I do understand those figures and how you came across your answers.
I wanting to ask you if you have tried a tuning box on your tdi.
As I have had great success with a $50 ebay tuning box, it hooks into the wiring harness under the hood between the fuel pump and the ecu.
My understanding is that the box intercepts the fuel temperature signal from the fuel pump to the ecu and tells the ecu that the fuel is colder than it actually is,this causes the ecu to adjust the fuel pump timing and duration.
It actually works excellent on my TDI, which is the AGR version very similar to the ALH only with the k03 turbo instead of the ALH's vnt turbo.
{1998-2003 i think}
I noticed as much a 10 mpg improvement on the hwy and my city figures have improved 5 mpg, The tuning box is advertized to improve fuel economy by up to 30% and hp 25% and torque by 50 ft lb
I will be damned, that cheapo ebay tuning box did make close to those numbers, my car has what seems like a 40% improvement in power its really peppy now and gets a big boost in fuel economy.
If anyone has a AGR or ALH tdi i will recommend this tuning box-
for other diesels and gas cars I will not recommend a cheap box as this box is the only one I can vouch for with my motor combination.
it was a set screw adjustable analog tuning box for the Volkswagen diesel engines equipped with VP37 injection pump, it was a proracing brand,i think.
I do not know why this cheap box works so well, it literally gave my car a huge boost in power and really did improve my fuel mileage, as long as i drive very light on the throttle, i generally use the first 1/8 to 1/2 of a inch of throttle in most of my driving.

In Vimauto they said to me that 0.5 to 1.0L/100km less fuel consumption is what they are used to in engines like mine. They said me a VW Golf 1.9 Tdi BXE 105 cv, they flashed to 128 cv because owner wanted only get lower fuel consumption. I asked also some Van and cars engines. They also did some trucks and farm tractors.

Now i have my camshaft syncronized at 0.0 I think is time to test ECU updates. First i will buy a Galletto or cheap flash tool for backup original and remapped one.

I've heard about the trick but I'm not sure if it has long term downsides.

Flashing the ECU is always the best.

My point was not to pay $50 for a magic box that is the EVRY mod with an additional safety resistor so you can't go too far below 750K ohms.

The mod has no long term negative effects.
If you ue it and bypass a bad MAF to full open, you WILL need to block your EGR to control the smoke.

I guess it would be a glorified Evry mod, the good thing is it has factory type connectors that T inline between the fuel pump and ecu.
I turned the adjustment screw two up from the way it arrived, it gave good results without smoke ,even if I punch it to get onto to the freeway for instance.
Its a cheap mod that I like.
I have to get a move on it and install this thin gauged stainless steel belly pan i cut out, to replace and improve the plastic one I knocked off in the summer. Its got to be hurting my prospective fuel mileage. I should just tape my front grill and be done with it, instead of fabricating one out of a old bumper skin..
