Sorry, I didn't catch this before I passed out in the chair... been a long day.

Anyway, I gave him the idea that he could see "up to 10% or so" increase at highway speed.

I'm sure it's a bit optimistic, but at least it'll be tested at that point. I don't think he'll let me do rear skirts or anything to that effect, because Granny is basically a beater car... he doesn't want her all modded up. Or, if I can show him that she's better off with those parts, maybe he'll change his mind... never know!

Update: Wheel discs

Started making permanent smooth wheel discs from sheet metal for my winter wheels. It's a work in progress and will be finished tomorrow for sure.

These are the pics i have for now:

I'll take pics tomorrow with the finished product installed.

I either see an arse load of finger prints, or an honest to goodness set of plenishing hammer marks all over that panel. Did you shape it, or are they just finger prints?

Well, darn. I was hoping to see someone had convexed their caps with a planishing hammer.. that would have been neat.

I'm thinking about building an English Wheel to do some metal working once I get moved and my house built. I wanna build my own forge, actually.

Just finished installing some permanent wheel discs on all 4 wheels. They are made out of sheet metal with screws and nuts holding them on. It took longer than expected because of tool issues.

This is the best i could do with pics right now. If anyone is wondering, my hood is off and there's a blanket over the engine bay because i'm working on another project as well.

I installed "techmat" under the hood to keep the engine warmer for longer and to also help speed the warm up process.
