Checking in

How's it goin, My name is Jeff and for the longest time I've been into the minitruckin' scene if anyone here is familiar with it. You can usually find me around blazinlow.com, but I wanted to check this place out. I am from a suburb of philly called Willow Grove, and currently am a student at Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, PA.
I drive a 1995 Chevy Blazer, with various modifications (mostly suspension, aesthetic, and audio). So far I've been able to squeeze out 21.5 MPG on the highway cruising at no more than 70 with cruise control. I have a hard time believing that getting anything more out of this Central Port Injection 4.3l V6 is even possible. I have a rigged up cold air intake, but plan on buying a real one this summer as well as a cat-back exhaust. Thats all for now.

thanks
-jeff

Welcome

Aye, Colonel!

Welcome to EM...

I suggest reading the stickies in the intro and other forums to get an idea of mods. Cold air may or may not be the solution.

In addition, exhaust tweaking for FE is a tricky proposition.

Take a look around, enjoy the site, and...

Best FE to ya...

My goal at this point is to get as close to 25mpg as I can. On this motor and tranny, its damn near impossible, but I'll see what I can do. So far I've replaced my EGR valve with a new one, replaced my alternator, and have an optima yellow top, which holds a ton of power so the alternator doesn't need to work as hard. I almost never use the AC. I have also replaced the fuel pump and sending unit. Next is probably the starter as mine took a crap haha. But as far as gas saving is concerned next is a fuel filter, which I have and never got around to putting in, and the cold air intake which I mentioned.
