The only valid test should be performed so: take two identic cars, one with chrome roof, one with white. Put them on the parking lot, put a milkjug full of water in each car, immerse thermometers in milkjugs, measure temperatures every 10 minutes or so. Compare curves.
Ecomodder plausible test: take two identic shoeboxes or banana boxes, chrome top and white top. Take half litre bottle instead of a jug, use the same procedure.

NASA and SpaceX seem to prefer white.

My clients have fun problems like lice and bed bugs. If you put a black tarp on a bed and leave it in the sun in the summer, would that heat up adequately to kill the pests?

Your clients, huh?

Get a micro-fiber sleeve, put the mattress in it, and they can't get out and will eventually starve.

Pests are abundant on the reservation.

Bed bugs live in plenty of places besides beds, pretty much everywhere, but yes, mattress covers are supposed to work.

One of my first graders regularly got lice and her mother just shaved her head. I guess that is infinitely easier than actually treating it, but the girl sure did not appreciate it, nor discussing it with everyone.

I had a bad experience with a parent with a Wahl clipper at an impressionable age. To the extent I haven't cut my hair since I had the choice.

No kidding about everywhere: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=bedbugs+airliner

Trust me, chrome blows away anything else. I have done two cars without headliners and measured the temps from underneath, so any emmisivity arguments are mute. I also tried shadow chrome which lies about halfway between white and chrome for effectiveness. Shadow chrome is a good more stealthy choice - it looks like dark silver paint from most angles. Three of my cars are now sporting reflective roofs.

It used to be a common approach on export and locally assembled vehicles meant for "tropical" markets too.

One of the most renowned examples is in the Land Rover range

Hard to find a Brazilian DKW with a non-white roof, for example.

This is the best idea yet! I've ordered a bit of white and chrome vinyl from the same manufacturer and two thermometers.
