Citroen C4 Cactus AIRFLOW 2L aerodynamics

Citroen take on the French government's 2L/100 km (2 liters per 100 kilometers) vehicle program. It is adopting an Hybrid Air drivetrain combining a 3-cylinder gas engine and a compressed air energy storage unit, a hydraulic pump and an automatic transmission with an epicyclic geartrain. Their design has variable-geometry components; variable air vent intakes, active side deflectors and wheel covers with vents controlled by centrifugal force. It has tall & narrow low rolling resistance wheels, front corner air curtains, extended top spoiler, full length underside panel channeling into rear extractors, rear & side cameras and full LED lighting system.

...they did label it, 'AirBump'. Fancy ding protectors or maybe reverse-golf ball dimples/arrayed vortex generators; detaching some airflow then reattaching it again down the sides delaying 'sucking' drag separation.

My guess would be externalized anti-intrusion bars. There was an example of the concept from Japan a few years back.

Citroen does some interesting stuff.

^^ Agreed, but we may have to establish how "interesting" a Citroen we can handle.

It's all here:

[URL="http://www.carstyling.ru/en/concept/manufacturer/Citroen/"]http://www.carstyling.ru/en/concept/manufacturer/Citroen/[/URL

...from the 1956 Citroen C-10 Coccinelle. The 2008 GT, The 2010 Survolt, the 2011 Tubik. Knock yourself out, but it turns out I was thinking of the Peugot Moonster.

Nécessité pour les frites de la liberté?

Edit: OK, now I see the French advert.

They're actually shopping trolley/ door ding guards and present on the standard models too.

It looks like they just ecomodded the standard model.

So—anti-intrusion, it just wouldn't help with getting T-boned by an F-150.

Edit: also, Peugot is using an hybrid-air technology for KERS.

Renault concept is gas-electric with XL-1 level mileage.
