Christopher,

I was at the Palo Alto EV show today, but Scott did not display his CityEl as expected. Perhaps he was meeting with you to complete the sale.

The asking price is very good for this vehicle with all of the modifications that were done by Scott.

If you contact me off forum, I can give you more information on where to obtain insurance and spare parts in California.

The CityEl is well engineered & I think you will be very happy with the purchase. The single wheel in front & two in the back is not as inherently stable as the opposite configuration, but as long as violent maneuvers are avoided, the CityEl handles just fine.

Thanks JW- great to know I made a good decision! I drove it this morning- done deal! I saw 2 red City ELs at the show this afternoon, but that yellow style Scott sold me is striking. Scott explained additions or repairs and I am thrilled with this EV! That additional battery and 4-way charger are a stroke of genius!

Sad thing is; I have to sell the Aspire so I don't ruffle too many feathers around here.

I pleaded to keep the L'MN WDGE plate; but no dice. Finally it really IS a done deal!!

Had it about a week- excellent; but I had no idea tires are nearly impossible to get in the US. Yesterday I looked closely what I was riding on- old odd size Continental tires with hundreds of age cracks. Continental will not even sell them here. I do not want to jack it up or change shock absorber size so something fits- just buy the tires, take them in; let them put them on.

So much for possible problems. No tires=no drive. Next stop- classified.

What size are the tires? Try a motorcycle dealership.

Try hooking up with Bearleener. Maybe he can help you navigate the website or figure out how to get some tires shipped to you. Worth a try. C'mon, don't give up so easily!

It is a true beauty, but was just hard to smile this morning. The grouchy tow truck driver last week, the DMV stinging me $500. just to register the City-EL, had the Aspire smog tested then the buyer backed out, then after zooming around last few days, I saw those cracks and almost had heart failure right there!

I made an appointment Thursday at a very reliable tire expert and hopefully he can find an easy way to resurface the sides. Along with several requests in this and other countries for the new Continentals.
