Question: When i have my instant MPG on and am in 5th gear and let of the gas it goes to 9999. I knew it had deceleration fuel cut off but i thought it was only to 1500rpm? I have taken mine down to 850 now and it still stays at 9999. Does anyone know when it cuts back on for sure?

What Xgauges do you guys have and how did you set them up?

Recycled Red is a 94 VX that now has just under 57 k miles. Most of my driving is highway at speeds of 55-65 MPH. Not much hypermiling techniques other than maximizing coasting and DFCO.

This car was purchased March of 2008 wrecked from a salvage yard in Ohio with 27.492 original miles. It still had the original tires and I drove it 10 k miles before I replaced them. Best tank was spring of 2008 at 64 MPH on the Interstate for 300 miles at 68 MPG.

Mine stops at about 1200 rpm. In 5th gear, that gives me DFCO at any speed above 30 mpg. Watch the LOOP gauge (open = dfco), and cross-check that against the feel of engine braking. I tested in 2nd and 3rd gears for a more noticeable cutoff point due to the more aggressive braking effect.

1990 CRX Si (yeah, the "sporty" version with the bigger engine and the short gearing!). Recently pulled tanks ranging from 45-50 MPG, driving more freeway than city. Average over the past three and a half years is 41 MPG.

Mods: Recently added a half grille block. That's it. Tires pressed up to max, and attempting to adjust the "loose nut behind the wheel".

...back in 1984-1999, I was getting a consistent 42 mpg freeway with a/c in my '84 Honda Civic DX with 5-speed.

...of course, that was with the CVCC engine.

2001 CIVIC DX, 5 Speed, 196K miles.

38.6mpg City
41.1mpg Highway

Have Mud Flaps
Pressure 34psi all around.
No hub caps, just steel wheels.

I drive mostly highway, 170mi (hilly terrain, route louisville <-> georgetown, ky I64 & I75) a day, back and forth from work. Got a scan gauge, trying to push more. love to hit 45.

So thinking of removing mud flaps to get a little more. I like to get a underbody skirt to close cavity behind rear bumper, just like to buy one if someone sells it.

Question is, can I get this engine D17A1 Engine to be a little lean with out damaging it.
