We agree, but that is the point, only the strong figuratively survive.

Someday someone will drive their flying car to the top of Pike's Peak, fly back down and claim a best time.

Porsches (Porchea?) are notorious for snap oversteer on freeway onramps. It's bit me twice now with the Superbeetle. I think it's the mis-matched tire brands front to back.
With the Notchback I cold reduce the turning circle by stepping the back end out in first. It ran 145/165 Klebers.

Oh right, I thought you said oversteer. I figured the VW and the Corvair with their engines behind the rear axle all had bad oversteer and that's what you were talking about. I read what I wanted to see LOL!

No problemo.
I had four f60-15 fiberglass belted tires on a Beetle when they were the new hotness. Cornered like it was on railroad tracks and stopped; but on gravel it wouldn't do both at the same time. The front end just did neither.

Maybe, a simple rule change will solve that potential problem, ie "no aero devices incorporated may provide uplift nor be moveable.".

So now flying cars are a 'problem'? Isn't it a public road when sanctioned events are not happening?

I don't see a problem here, it's a road, not a runway, that would be a different event.

They could build a ramp at the end of the turn-around on top. Those stadium monster trucks would be so jealous.

I somehow don't see the extreme mileage conscious Ecomodder crowd here
having that much in common with the Monster Truck/WWE crowd and your idea getting a lot of traction., but I may be wrong.

I know what you're saying, but... it is the aerodynamics forum.
Corvallis, OR's Da Vinci Days has a pedal power threeway race -- street, mud bog and river. They had creative entries from canoes with tricycle wheels to a yellow plastic septic tank with a crew of four or more, paddle tires from a UTV and a stereo blaring 'Yellow Submarine". Fossil Fuel Free material.
Years ago.
A threeway course -- land, sea and air could have an efficiency index. Like the Mobil Economy Run.
Quote:
Mobil Economy Run
Mobil Economy Run was an annual event that took place from 1936 to 1968, except during World War II. It was designed to provide real fuel efficiency numbers during a coast-to-coast test on public roads and with regular traffic and weather conditions. The Mobil Oil Corporation sponsored it and the United States Auto Club sanctioned and operated the run.
