'ECO' chip tuning your engine

Has anyone here done 'eco chip' tuning on their car instead of the usual 'performance chip' tuning. I have a 2l and a 1.4l in my cars both non turbo. Here is a local speed shop here that offers chip tuning for the equivalent of $250. They advertise both a performance chip tune and a fuel efficiency tune but will it be worth it what results can I expect?

Eco chiptuning is almost the same as a preformance chip tuning. With preformance, there is ovet the hole rpm range more power and torque. With the eco chip, there wil be in lower rpms only a torque and power raise. In high rpm it will be still the same as factory. If you have non turbo cars. If you chip it, there will be verry low to no gain. With turbo cars the gains are much higher. I went from 136hp and 310nm (turbodiesel car) to 200hp and 400nm with a chip and bigger intercooler. Used the preformance chip on a dyna handmade. Not the eco chip.

Gains in milage was 0.5l /100km.

The gains will likely be smaller for NA petrol engines

If you can get a quality custom remap for $250, I'd go for it, for the improved driveability alone.

I plan to get a chip tune for the Grey Panther. There is probably some restoration of engine efficiency but I expect the biggest gains to be with the adjustment of the automatic trans shift points and torque converter lockup.
