direct injection 2-stroke wouldn't run into the same issues with anywhere near the same severity.

And now all that tax payer subsidized technology belongs to a German company.
Not just dropped the ball but gave it to the other team.

My 2 cycle car isn't like this at all, its silent and vibration free and has absolutely no sound deadening.

The only time it smokes is at wot doing 7k rpm and for the first 5 minutes after startup, otherwise smoke free.

I assume if they could figure out smokeless operation in 1969, they could do it better today.

Ok team earth may get you better emissions in europe now.
It could even take you to work in the future but If it was payed for by Team USA, how do we get our money back?
If your still OK with that perhaps you can pay my bills and go borrow some money to pay yours later.

Maybe, maybe not. I don't know enough about the engineering to say whether or not it's possible to develop a quiet 2-stroke engine that meets emissions standards. I just know that even if it IS possible, an awful lot of engine makers chose not to use that technology.

NoX and rings are the only 2 reasons automakers did not choose that tech, eliminate NOx worries and ring issues might be possible to overcome.

The Insight overcame NoX.

The sound is not really bad at all. The blue cloud is less frequent with modern synthetic oils, or vegetable-based ones, which can be used at a lower amount, thus leading to less smoke and carbon deposits around the spark plug electrode.

My car is oil injected, it doesn't matter what oil I use and it does not smoke once warm, unless I lean into the thing at redline RPMs
