Couple questions about an s10 and weight

Im looking for a small work truck, thinking about an s10 or Sonoma. 4 banger, extended cab. Im going to take out the back seats, but im going to have a topper or a fiberglass bed cover, don’t know which one yet. All together (including me) the stuff I will be putting in the vehicle will be around 500 pounds (Im 200 myself)

So heres my questions

Will the weight kill me gas mileage?

Which is better a topper or a bed cover for mpg?

Is it just me or is the Sonoma a lifted version of the s10? everyone that I seen they looked lifted compared to the s10

All options being equal they should have the same ride height, 2wd I think is lower than 4wd, then the zr2s are higher

go with either the cover or an aerocap. as for weight if you always drive with about the same weight then improve your mileage based on that. the weight will hurt i think it was like 2% for every 100 lbs.

Will you be driving mostly city or highway?

Also I have a Z85 S10, its the heavy load/towing and I've noticed my truck sits a little higher than other 2wd, but lower than 4wd and ZR2s
