Well look at it this way.. people are still shelling out boatloads of money for crx's, and the newest ones are 19-20 year old cars now.. maybe that body shape is timeless resale value wise.

How does the honda fit rank with the fiesta, yaris, crz etc? i'm new at this.. not sure how to tell exactly except the mpg ratings and the weight i suppose.

looks cool but also reminisce of a fat insight

wasnt real impressed (especially with the numbers and price)

35/40mpg for over 20k!

you can buy...

a used echo for 3k, a used insight for 6k, a used yaris for 8k, or a used prius for 10k

(i had a 07 yaris auto. got 35mpg with basic good driving on MY hills)

I never like comparing used with new because it's largely irrelevant.

At one time there would have been someone saying "Why buy an Echo when you can buy 'X'?" about that Echo that's now only worth 3k. All very well saying "it's cheaper" but then you could just wait five years and buy a second-hand CR-Z for half the price or wait ten years and buy it for a quarter of the price.

A new car can only be realistically compared with another new car, or nearly-new at a push. If everyone thought "a used car is cheaper - I'll buy that" then the flow of cars would eventually run out...

Be impressed. Here in the UK that number translates directly into GBP, so thats nearer 30-35K USD here. I suspect the public, presented with miriads of Turbo Diesel alternatives, will stay away in droves just like they did/have with the Gen 1 and 2 Insight.

Looks too much like a spaceship on the inside (some pun intended) to my liking.

I feel Honda has lost the plot with its hybrids.
Though attractively priced in comparison with the Prius, the Insight 2 is a bit too small to be a 4/5 person family car.
The CR-Z otoh is too big to be highly efficient as a sportscar, sporty car, or commuter alike, because Honda wanted to squeeze in rear seats !
Even when the rear seats aren't fitted (as in the US), the design is still larger and heavier because of them.
