HCH1 New IMA and 12v Battery - still P1449 code!?

Hi,
New here! I see lots of good info here and have been trolling for a while.

My HCH1 had a P1449 code. Replaced the IMA battery with a Referb from Greentec Auto. Also replaced the 12v battery as it was older. Drove car
15 miles and back comes the P1449 code. Just to verify, I brought the car to the local Honda Dealer. They confirm P1449 and state my battery is bad.
I know P1449 has 4 subcodes, but I can not find a sole that can obtain them.

Am I missing something? I hear the battery fan kick on if I rev the car to 3000-3500 rpms. So I know it's functioning. Did I just get a poor rebuild?
Very frustrating!!!

Thaks for the help guys!!!
Chris

You can flash the codes out using the ima light and the paperclip methiod at the obdII plug. You'll have to dig about for the two pins to connect together but reading the blink codes is covered on the IC forum. Have a search about for insight/hch1 reading blink codes.

I suspect a bad rebuild. Did they use brand new cells or used ones? Anyway sounds like they should be sorting it out it must have a warranty of some sort.

I do battery rebuilds and never rebuild batteries with old cells now it's simply too unreliable and time consuming. I just replace them with a new set of brand new 8ah ones. Much better !
