That is nice. Hey, I have a suggestion for the next person who wants a cap.
Use stitch and glue construction. We can get a really nice curve with that!
It is also very strong and light. Once you curve the top a significant amount, it gets very stiff. Impossible to sag.

The lifting lid part of the top weighed 30 lbs before finishing, so the finished lid is about 35 lbs more or less. The other three pieces weigh much less - ten lbs or so for the sides, less for the front center piece.

I averaged 28.11 MPG last winter (average for 2268 miles) vs 26.78 MPG the winter before (average over 2556 miles). Last winter's mileage was hurt because I got lazy about checking tire pressure. I'll have another comparison after this summer. Last summer I averaged 33.80 MPG over 3180 miles.
