Didn't think you could bring these to the US
1989 Nissan Pao - Japanese Import Fully Legal RHD JDM
It qualifies as an antique in Virginia, maybe that is why they could import it.

Non-U.S. version vehicles less than 21 years old must be modified to meet U.S.
emission and safety standards and/or to be identical to U.S. version vehicles and must
be imported by an Independent Commercial Importer (ICI).
From Procedures for Importing Vehicles and Engines into the United States I found released by the EPA of course. (link is a pdf)

I've always kinda liked these cars. I like the styling and the more classic cues. Always thought they'd get better economy, though I see that one is saddled with an automatic which surprises me.

Cute, and a whole grand less than my Fit was.
As a collectible, it ought to go to auction. On CL, it's a car:

A 21 year old JDM automatic transmission.
I'm a parts guy and the whole idea makes me want to cry.

100% JDM that just means it was never designed or intended to be driven faster than 45 mph.
CL is for people who cant figure out how to use Ebay.

The price is ludicrous, I'd like a manual Figaro.
Nissan Figaro - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
not too picky on the color, red would be cool for visibility.

I understand it's still a major hassle to bring them to the States, which is probably why the cost is so high.
