Camper battery tips

Hey all - on a site I work on a user asked a question that I have no idea how to answer about how to do some customizations on his truck for using solar panels and potentially a microturbine.

I thought this crew might be able to help - thanks all! See you around the forum.

Add a new electrical service panel (or disconnect box) before the existing service panel. (Remove the jumper from neutral to ground in the existing panel.) Wire a contactor between the new and old panels, with the coil and normally open contacts connected to the power from the new panel. Wire the common contacts to the old panel and the normally closed contacts to the inverter. The charger connects to the new panel before the relay.

Also, replace those very inefficient lights with 12v CCFLs. They cost about $10 or so and are commonly available at computer stores. (Such lights are commonly used in "show off" systems.)
