Diesel Motorcycle - 130+ mpg! - $4500 (Denver, CO)
Here is a cl ad i saw in the Houston area out of CO. Looks promising. This could be a bike i MIGHT own some day. I can only imagine with some aero work what it could do. Thoughts?

How SLOW it can cruise might be more accurate
Anyway, I wouldn't bet it to get over 70MPH.

Looks like the Punsun. I would say 55 tops. The 22-25hp twin would be a better choice. Unfortunately when they say CVT, that generally just means a comet 40 go-kart system.

That looks too much like the centrifugal clutch of a Mobylette.

here's the response:
Hi David!
This is always the big question. With the 13 hp, we are getting 60-65 mph top speed with the 4 speed. Our basic models start at $4850, and we can always add upgrades or accessories if that's something you are interested in....like we did with the Sentinel model.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Cheers!
Aaron

This is an ambitious project and looks to be well executed. I wonder how cold it can get before it fails to start. I also imagine it will be ridiculously loud and vibey (and smelly) to ride.

For 4500$, that's pretty awesome guys... Compare with the following two commercial alternatives that fall in the $20k range:
Hayes M1030 military motorcycle | Bike EXIF
Track T-800 CDI diesel motorcycle | Bike EXIF
Of course for $20k... One gets you a 5 speed and 90mph with 100mpg, while the other gets you a cvt and 0-60mph in less than 4 seconds with 100mpg. I guess the age old "you get what you pay for" still applies
I'd take 60mph, 120mpg, and maybe the ability to run WVO?????? for $45000... If I had 4500$ laying around
