I think a lot of people confuse octane in gas thinking the higher the number the more explosive it is. It's the other way around, the higher the number the more resistant to burning it is. If you want high octane just run E85. I think the new 5.3 it might standard or able to add on as an option. In the Michigan police testing they usually go faster on the E85 but will burn more because like every other fuel the higher the octane the lower the BTU per gallon.
