DIY Electric Vehicles E-Book

Hi guys!

I'm thinking about creating a pair of e-books based on my work on building my electric car and motorcycle.

These would be direct "HOW-TO" information, similar to my instructional videos. It would take the reader right through the how and why of the conversion.

I'm looking for a little input from you guys. If I made an e-book....

  • How many pages would you expect it to be?
  • What format should it be? (iPad, Kindle, computer, etc.)
  • How much should I charge for it?
  • If a paper version was also available, which would you prefer to buy? If the paper version cost more?
  • Any specific information in the book that if included would make you more likely to buy?
  • Would you only buy it through a big name like Amazon.com or would you be fine with buying it at another web page?

Any other thoughts or comments about it?

Thanks,

-Ben

Id considered the video, but if you are that guy, I think the fact you gave teachers, but not ecomodders a discount turned me off in buying it. There is soo much on you tube I just said forget it.

Now writing about making boats electric? Hell, Ive purchased 2 books regarding that already.

I would buy a hard copy of a book because paper books like that are much easier to read then reading something online and I don't have an Ebook viewer, Ebooks are also possible to delete and hard to lone.
I don't think many people feel the same way as Cobb about you helping to get EV related videos in to the hands of teachers, because for me, I have a budget for building an EV and spending $20 or whatever on a book or video is hopefully going to save me at least that much over the course of the project, but for a school they might not have the budget or ok to spend money on non standard materials.
