Thanks! Another question that comes to mind is how well it works at night?

Here's a good deal on a similar 6" LCD screen:

6 inch standalone headrest car lcd tft monitor screen

And a link to the camera used by Coyote X (which has a 92 degree viewing angle, AFAICT):

Video of Video? That never works out well... do you have a laptop that you can connect the cam's feed to? Direct recording of the images will probably best suit the "visual testing" part.

Oh well, the video of video I took for the first thing posted in this thread works well enough. But no, no laptop. My video capture thing won't work with macs because the people who designed it are idiots.

Anyway, popped off the door today and could figure out how to get to where I needed to be to run the wiring through the door so I just whipped something else that works well enough up. Pictures to come in a bit.

If you want to switch quickly between sources you can just run the two camera composite video connections through a toggle switch.

Well, there is a toggle switch on the screen and the remote already. Besides, I'm not sure if I'll even go this route if I don't have to, legally.

The monitor consumes 7.5W but I can't find how much the camera uses. Do you think the aerodynamic gains offset the amount of fuel required to produce the power? I'm sure it does but I'm curious of how much.

I honestly think that the energy required to power the monitor is no where near that you get back from the aero gains. 10 watts is nothing, really. Not even enough to worry about, I think.
