always another way to look at things but how much income do you need to make to save 200$ to buy the part, for example if you make 1000 a week and expense are 800 a week you have to work all week to save u p 200 $ or another way if you make 200 a day you could do something comletely energy free like bike ride all day and not make any pollution instead of doing whatever job you have to do to earn 200 $, its like if i fix up an older car that make a bit more pollution and dont work two jobs, or if i buy a new one and work two jobs generating traffic noise etc, , weird but all kinds of ways to look at this stuff, that being said the amount of cars running no cats is small. more pollution comes from a weed wacker than any car with fuel injection and at least a working O 2 sensor.

Well I drive round trip 70 miles a day 6 days a week so biking is not an option I could borrow the neighbors Amish buggy. And nox2 well study up that's why there is no lean burn in Cali. Yea I do plan on replacing the cat sooner or later just not sure what route I want to go. Or style or ex style manifold with cat under car less $$. Yeah 200 is like well 3 tanks or so every 2 weeks. 200 is the axles and seals the car needs. Oh and 200 $ is the price of the 02 the car needs. I need to be budget oriented even if the car was almost free. I've got 4 Kids. And for the record there are some county's in Ohio that do require smog check.

Need a cat? The lack of one will not affect the way your car runs, only what comes out of the tailpipe. The VX cat is very close to the cylinder head so it can stay as hot as possible when in lean burn.

I would keep my eyes open for an opportunity to maybe pcik up some used parts from a modder who did not want the weak lean burn engine in his civic. Probably not worth spending a lot of money to make an old car like new, but the oxygen sensor is critical.

I will most likely slowly but surely switch over to the ex style exhaust no cracks and cheaper more aftermarket stuff. I'm at the local bone yard enough. Sooner or later.

...junkyard part from a newer model should work --- for awhile.
