Do you think/feel Christmas & New Year as stupid???

I use to say Merry Christmas in web, in some comunities I use, as a form of courtesy and good wishes.

But let's put courtesy and good wishes by side for a minute. Do you think such dates are stupid, fake, worthless. Just time people eat nd drink forcing thenselves to believe things will be better and faking they like a huge family.

I have have a sensation of worthless in such dates and traditions?
What do you think about?

Don't over-analyze a festivity!

Does it need to be sensible?
Logical, oh responsible, practical?
Would you show me a world where I could be so dependable
Oh clinical, oh intellectual, cynical?

Christmas is a golden opportunity to celebrate life with your loved ones. And if you can bring yourself to wishing well upon those you don't really know or like, then the world becomes a better place for it.

Merry Christmas, everybody!

Never seemed fake to me. We enjoy the company of everyone we see. Is it pointless? Sure, everything is pointless; blame entropy. Pointlessness is not a sufficient reason to not be cheerful though.

Merry Christmas.

Yes, it's a load of codswallop. Particularly the mass commercialism that is the norm now.

OTOH, if it wasn't for annual excuses like this, I'd probably never find an excuse to be social and spoil loved ones. Makes things easier in that aspect.

Well, people do Festivus the entire year, but not face to face, more like talking on back. And in Christmas everyone fake they love everybody.
They also workship money and greed the entire year, to fake faith in Jesus birthday.

Some people say Santa Claus was blue until Coca Cola turn it red as a marketing plan.

All Darc. Are you against all types of holidays? If not, what would your preference be for a holiday?

He's always been red and white. Coca-Cola influenced the popular image of Santa Claus, but only by embellishment.

I work for a church but am an atheist; Christmas is as much a secular holiday as a religious one, and I don't begrudge anyone their celebrations. This is the one day a year where just about everything stops, and I enjoy that. It would be nicer if it happened without all the rampant commercialism and needless consumption beforehand, but that won't happen.

I'm not against holiday. I just found Christmas a fake thing.

I use to say Merry Christmas really wishing good to people on web, but as a fomality (despite really wish good).

Maybe it's because we have no snow on dezembrer in tropical clime countries like Brazil, so I didn't got the Christmas flu (neural infection that affects the logic system in the brain).
