LOL, that's the thing. The internet isn't even in print! It's free and therefore there is no filter whatsoever for what people write. There's no editor to say "No, Johnny, we can't afford to print that until you make sure it's reasonably accurate". Instant gratification is what it is, and those finding that article will probably be turned off hypermiling techniques for years to come.

The sad part is that it doesn't stop there. There was a certain presidential candidate this year that quoted "We the People" from the Constitution.

What's wrong with that picture? It's from the Declaration of Independence, not the Constitution.
