Dog Whistles
Idiots hear dog whistles and accuse me of having heard it, too. Fortunately none of those idiots are here.
'Miami' is sporting 1 of 3 tee shirts we were issued; 1 of 2 long sleeved shirts, and 1 of 2 jeans. You get 3 pairs of underwear and knock-off combat boots (work boots). No toothbrush. No toothpaste. No shampoo. That was all.
You've got to do laundry every other day despite 2 machines for 110 men. The math doesn't work out on that. You could pay some 'lopes' (prepaid envelopes) or smokes to have the inside guys run your laundry while you work 10hrs outside. I never paid anyone. Sometimes I'd not be around when it was my turn for the wash. I'd return to find perfectly clean and folded laundry. Respect was given and received. Ironically, prison is all about honor among the dishonored.

Is there some back story or context to this?

Nope, just reminiscing about a lifetime lived in a single year. Found this photo with the note on it last night.
Hoping the recent supreme court decision is indicative of peak insanity regarding race in the US, and we can continue treating folks as individuals rather than drones in an arbitrarily defined group.
Just taking a page from xist and using this forum to share something personal.

So you may go by Jonathan in some other contexts?
I took the Metro and $250 to [the mechanic who sold me the Dasher] and asked him to fix the exhaust. He put it on a 2-post lift and looked at it and told me to take it back to Goofy's.
It looks like I'm back in the market for a [used] floor jack. I want to wrap about 6" with Kevlar wrap, wrap that with a rectangular piece of tin and hold that with two hole clamps.
He did loan me a flat-bed scanner, so that I might scan the bill of sale for the stroker 1776. Once I'm done with the life drawing class sketches from the 1970s, I should get to that.

He preferred to call me by my name rather than the various prison handles I got. First one was Pool Boy. Second one was Killer. Third was Woody (guy thought I looked like Woody from Toy Story).
I also went by Jonathan at my last job because people in the factory couldn't hear "Jon" with equipment running. They'd call me Don, or Rob, or Susan... nobody mistook Jonathan.
Always welcome to wrench in my garage just as long as the car doesn't live there for weeks. Parents farm is where cars can (and do) sit for years on end.
Back to my previous comment about being drones in an arbitrarily defined group; George Hotz commented that our destruction by AI won't be physical, but mental. Whoever wants us to think a particular way will have the most powerful persuasion machine ever to shape us into what they want. Fascinating discussion, and I think I'll make a thread on that alone.

Title it "Gaslighted into Oblivion" oe something. It's the most entertaining outcome to the outside observer.

I'll be entertained by what I'm incapable of not being entertained by.
