Hi all,

Thanks for all the comments. This thread has gotten a lot more attention then I ever expected. I just sat down one night and in a few minutes took a stock photo and tried to see what the prius would look like with all my "dream" mods finished. Hence 'Dream Prius" has born. I figure it will take well over a year to impliment most of the mods. I thought the end result looked pretty cool, so I started a thread on it.

Basjoos, you are right. It is figment of my imagination. You have my total respect for the mods you have done. I hope everyone is clear on that. The good news is, I am serious about modding out the Prius. It will take some time due to: wife, four kids, job/business so it may take awhile.

Keep the comments coming I will need a lot of help as the mods progress.

Thanks to all

Might as well do something with the door handles while you're at it.

For the boat tail, once the angle of an elliptical boat tail gets to 22 degrees, you can cut it right there as the flow will separate at the shoulder past this angle.

You could mount a tapered clear plastic cover over the licence plate to finish out the shape of the boattail past the plate. That's what I did on mine to avoid generating a wake/eddy off the licence plate.

It is photo-shopped ( we all know this) and it has a major design flaw in the front end design. You loose a lot of aerodynamics with the air directed under the car. The point needs to be near the ground as with basjoos design. I understand this is only in an idea stage, but that point will need addressing.

In any event, this is a very interesting thought and discussion.

i think if you do a boat tail, the best way to do it would be to buy a rear hatch off a totaled Prius and modify it so that you don't mess up the only one you have. You could build off the structure that is already there and if you did it right you wouldn't lose the weather integrity. the added weight would probably require larger air-springs to keep the door open but that should be pretty easy to take care of.
