I laughed when I saw the videos you posted - I previously spent more than a few minutes watching (listening to) videos of that Fiat twin when they were first posted.

Would sure be interesting to drive one.

That's true... at current fuel prices! (Check back with this thread in 10 or 15 years.)

Does cruise control work on any 911s of this vintage? I figured it was like the A/C, some buttons that might have been useful at one point but were now decoration...

One of my wife's favorite lines about the car is "I was only going 85 MPH!" (Because the speedo tops out at 85...)

Maybe we've found the cause for her MPG after all.

As for the Fiat TwinAir engine, it's pretty hard to get it down to its NEDC fuel economy rating, but it has potential.

Forummember SaveFuel got his 500 down to 3.72 L/100km - that's 63mpg US - by keeping to 90kph - 56mph

I saw that too. Don't even get me started on that one, it gets 58.8 / 81.1 mpg (city/highway) on the Euro Test Cycle.
Just remember that the Euro test cycle (NEDC) is far less realistic than the US EPA numbers.
While matching EPA is fairly easily achievable, matching NEDC in real life is a lot harder.

I consider anyone matching the NEDC numbers as an hypermiler.

Still, 63 mpg is amazing!
