Thanks - done, done and done!

Gave my presentation yesterday & borrowed/modified a couple of your slides. It was just over an hour to a fairly small group of about 15 people (it's a holiday 3-day weekend here).

Lots and lots of questions from the group, and I always consider that a good sign. Only noticed 2 people nodding off occasionally in the back - they were older ones though.

I'm not a fan of doing public speaking, though the feedback afterwards was positive.

I'm toying with the idea of offering driving clinics to any of the people who attended and who are interested.

Anecdote from the presentation:

At one point, I asked the group whose vehicles had OEM fuel consumption displays. About 4 of 15 indicated "yes".

I know that one in the group has a Highlander Hybrid, but she didn't put up her hand. I said, "I'm sure yours does."

Her: "I'm not sure where it is."

So after the presentation we went out to her car and I showed her that she actually has TWO separate displays! One instant digital bargraph in the cluster (she wasn't on the right page of her multi-function display), PLUS an instant & resettable average numeric display in the center of the dash.

Another member decided he was definitely getting a scangauge or equivalent. People like him and his wife make me want to give in-car clinics.

Whoa. I guess I was preoccupied with helping my brother move and helping with cleanup from the Joplin MO tornado and forgot to reply.

Glad to hear your presentation went well. Passing on knowledge to a receptive audience is always nice. Did you get more questions while you were out in the parking lot (looking at the ecomods on your car)?

Also, any chance of posting your presentation?

It could be useful for future public speaking ventures.

I'd like to give instructive driving clinics sometime, too. But I think I'd need to see some of you masters at work first. I feel like I'm only diet-hypermiling in the automatic Vibe.
