EcoBoost Mustang Highway MPG

I ran four (40+ mile) highway laps with a 2015 EcoBoost Mustang Premium Automatic last week. Finally got the video posted this morning:

https://youtu.be/-oXKJRVDk0w

Folks freaked out when I hit 30 MPG in the 5.0 liter V8 (per the trip meter) last month. The little EcoBoost took it up a notch.

I need to dig into the footage to pull out some shots of the aero bits. There's some interesting stuff going on with the air dam …

Thanks for taking notes, Nemobuscaptain. You nailed three out of the four numbers!

Cruise set to 68 MPH - Windows Up/AC Off: 37.4 MPG

I added the writeup to my website today today. Had to wait until the coffee kicked in …

This is incredible! This little turbo 4 is shaping up to be one of Ford's best most versatile power plants ever. This same engine is capable of 12 and even 11 second 1/4 times with the right tune, just don't expect the same mileage.

I had one of these with the 2.3 liter 4 banger w/turbo.
Cant say I ever drove it for mileage......

I had been driving a 66 coupe w/ 6cylinder w/2.78 rearend for 5 yrs back an forth to college. got 30+ mpg on the highway with it.
I was kinda ready for alittle speed.....

FOr 1979, that was a pretty good handling car.....
