Ecomod my generator
Can a screaming diesel generator be more efficient than new tech gasers?
This is the best generator test video on the Internet, ever.
https://youtu.be/5n1sPy3Al6M
Numbers to best:
1 Can the generators even run a 1,500w load for 30 minutes?
Honda yea, HF no, sketchy no-name of course not.
I'm pretty sure mine can, it's a 320cc, about 6hp engine with a 3.3kw generator.
2 assuming it holds the load how long does 16 ounces, 480 miltimiters of fuel run a 1,500w load for?
Only the honda could hande it and ran the 1,500w load for about 32 minutes.
I have no idea how the diesel would do. The diesel engine should stomp the gas generators in this test if the diesel engine and generator are even 25% efficient.
3 the 500w load test with economy mode off, how long will it run off 480 miltimiters?
The 112cc honda power house, 43 minutes. No-name ran 51 minutes, HF did 55 minutes.
Can the diesel compete with this, maybe.
4 the 500w load test with ecomode on with 16 small imperial units of petrol.
The Honda, no-name and HF all ran dry with in about 2 minutes of each other, say 62 minutes is the time to beat.
I seriously doubt the diesel can beat that.
Can it run vegetable oil? We're going to find out.

I should have tested it buy now but the engine fuel system was left open and got full of dirt. I thought I cleaned it all out but I lost the injector pump. I have replaced it, just need to test it.

Need some way to cool the stator in the generator better but I like the efriciency test.

I ran the generator with rubber feet on it, not bolted to anything and it tries to walk across my driveway under load so I'll have to build a frame.
Once I know the no load fuel consumption I can experiment with propane fumigation.

I have a grinding wheel that has four rubber feet that wants to walk on a countertop.
I put it on a three-legged stool and the combination is solid as a rock.

It does have 3 legs, 2 on the motor and 1 for the generator side. The whole assembly just isn't heavy enough or I need to give it a concrete pad.

Now I wonder why the stool works.
I just watched How to Finish the World's Tallest Skyscraper wherein it says that triangular building don't sway in the wind like four sided ones.

I know a triangle is the stiffest structure, but....... 3 or 4 or even 6 sides, Has to sway unless all the building is under compression. Long stuff moves. Tall buildings have temperature differences and even at .001% coefficient of expansion at that distance something is going to be measureable. Might not noticeable wind sway.

How you show you didn't watch without saying it. The 'temperature differences and ... coefficient of expansion' are overpowered by the vortex street shedding off the structure. The sponsor of the video was Air Shaper.
The Burj Khalifa, the current tallest, is four sided and has a tuned mass damper. The trianglar tower doesn't. There is also some benefit to the taper. less cross section at higher elevations.
