Ecomodder Is The Best Forum!

I posted on another car forum website(which will remain nameless, besides you all know the storys or have experinced this before), after searching for a bit for my answer. I could not find my answer so I asked a question by starting a new tread. I recieved some good help and also recieved the "It is amazing what you can find when you search" after this person's post. I mean my question was so specific that no search function would ever find it. You would have to know the exact said title or key word or have started the tread. I mean wtf is the chip on these peoples shoulders. WAS THIS NOT THE REASON FOR A FORUM????? To give and recieve. Yes repeat titles can be annoying but why not just link or skip the tread. Yeah if you start a thread What can I do to save gas? Then yeah I might say "there are some post about this" and ask them in a PM if they need help with search feature I would be willing to help them. AHHHHH! crazy, rude, people.

But that a side I really feel comfortable on this site and I love you tree huggers (joking) .

Thank you all for treating humans like people.

Haha, yeah, I used to hate honda-tech for that. Their search function sucked and then what did these people expect, threads on miraculous new ways to turn a bolt or change a brake pad?

LOL I meant "Tread" yeahhhhhhhh You must have been one of those guys jking

Yeah funny another Honda website too. There was another Acura forum that was horrible about that. The "old heads" what I like to call the ones who posted the most, would get pissed! Even once blocked me for bumping someones post. Ego trips. (crap hope I don't get blocked. Crap I just said Crap!)

lol

Agreed!

And just incase you do decide to use it the search function here actually WORKS! Granted for me it is just good for finding threads that I've already read . . . . .

Oh and by the way on TDI club there is a thread on how to use the search, unfortunately it is very difficult to find if you can't search for it. LOL

I always hated that also. A forum is where you can search, post, reply, etc. If a site expects you to get all your answers from searching, than you might as well close all new forum registrations and make the entire board a "Read Only" forum.

I even heard this stated before.............

"Why waste precious forum space when you can use search."

Um, even free forums like Invisionfree have unlimited space. That's just crazy. I had a gaming forum where people would ask the same questions over and over, but always made it a point to answer them.

On the note about Honda forums, I have noticed the few I looked at were a bit grouchy and elitist.

Since I came here I have not had a need to look on any other forum as there are enough people with a wide variety of vehicles here someone is bound to know the answer to your question whether it's car specific, aero specific or most any other question you could have.

I started a thread awhile back asking what people did for a living and in about 2 days it had reached 3 or 4 pages with people from all walks of life, technical and non-technical, gearheads, hobbyists, computer geeks/nerds (I fit each of these categories in some way so I don't mind using them). I have to say this is by far the friendliest online community I have ever been involved in and I am proud to be in the (e-)presence of the great people here!
