EcoModder is NINE! 9th birthday prize contest! (ScanGauges, etc.)

(Original cake photo...:
Andrea_44)

Tim and I were going to shut down the forum, considering this is the 2nd year of crazy low oil prices. REALLY, WHO NEEDS EFFICIENCY!?

But we changed our minds and decided to celebrate EcoModder's NINTH birthday instead. (Dec. 1 was the big day).

And we're marking the milestone by giving away The Customary Birthday Loot.

On Friday, January 6th, we'll draw prizes randomly based on forum posts made between today and then. (So the more you post, the better your odds. Not that our hard-core members need any motivation.)

HEY - this is the month of prizes! The birthday draw period runs concurrent with our free $25 gas card contest.

Birthday Party Prizes
  • ScanGauge II: (again generously provided by Linear Logic) will be awarded at random to one member* who posts in any thread in the forum between 12:01 AM EST today (Dec. 7) and noon EST on Friday, Jan. 6th.
  • EcoModder decals: one additional randomly chosen member who posts in the forum in the same time period will receive a pair of decals.
* ... only members who joined before today can win.

So... Happy Birthday to everyone -- members and moderators alike -- who have made EcoModder what it is.

Agreed. The people around here are great! Mostly!

It seems to me there was more a bit more fighting when U.S. gas prices were much higher.

1) there were a lot more people interacting, and many more "non-regulars";
2) maybe people were generally more frustrated to begin with.

So... is Ecomodder actually 10 years old or was this post recycled?

I hope it's not 9 again or I just wasted a bunch of time making another 9th birthday cake image!

OH WAIT - I see it now. The timestamp on post #1 showed a 2015 posting date. It's because I copied the 8th birthday post from last year and edited it with the 9th info. Apparently vB copied the date as well... so, yeah, it's a recycling error. I'll go fix that.

EDIT: fixed!

I just registered to thank you guys for not pulling the plug.

Gas and oil may be ridiculously cheap for now, but I don't think that can last forever. I'll keep doing the hypermiling thing even when it doesn't save me much money.

That cake looks more aero going backwards...
Great belly pan though

Congrats EM on 9 years of helping each other save fuel.
