I didn't want to take too much credit. The concept was in an academic PDF I don't care to find again.

A manual trans is on my long term list. I do prefer them to autos for a variety of reasons. But for now, getting it on the road is the goal. I'll be able to find a cheap yota manual if I have time to find a rusted out truck with all the bits.

Nice ideas on the diagram too. I wish I didn't have the size limitation.... Maybe I'll start making a lot more $ soon and build an addition to the garage.

I've decided it's going to be easiest to do the rounded corners with the 4" ducting opened up. Especially up on the roof front.... I'll need a few lengths for the horizontal and a couple for the verticals. Might be a little ugly, but I think I can dress it up nicely enough. Modifying the frame would be way more work.

My experience with my 65mpg Civic VX has taught me that much of the gains in normal cars are in the rear. The boat tail should help, although it seems less than it did in the VX. (which actually has a kammack)

That's what makes it a neat work-around.

4" duct will spring back unless you un-roll it. Why not use frosted white plexiglass or perf metal thin enough to bend onto a frame and then string RGB LEDs inside?

I would like to do the same. Unfortunately, most of the donors in New England rusted and snapped in two a long time ago.

What I would really like is to find an SR5 so I could get tranny, clutch, instrumentation and seats. Good luck finding one though.

Nice job. You gonna put rear wheel skirts? You should, for the pimp effect if nothing else.

Yes, fitted inside the original outer fenders.
I have a set of spoked hubcaps that are going back on. Nothing good about them as far as MPG's go, but oh man, the pimp factor is high. It accentuates the them of the band well.

So are you going to have disco lights in the leading edges?

I'm thinking full hydraulics are in order, someday. That way I can roll up on 3 wheels.

Not sure what the lighting scheme is going to be yet... Need it to be stealthy to prevent break ins. Too many friends have had their band trailer/van broken into when they are off getting food.
I've been thinking of stenciling "Jim's Septic Service" or "Used Books 4 U" on the side with my phone number. No one wants to approach either of those vehicles to steal anything...
