El Mirage 7/21/2019

I'm going up to El Mirage again this year. On July 21st there's a land speed racing event sponsored as always by the Southern California timing Association. This will be my fourth trip.

The cars are awesome. Here is an example of one from 1948, but you can be sure a few quite like it will be there in 2019:

I might camp, something I've wanted to do for years and I'm not yet done once. Maybe this is the year.

I take pictures of the LSR cars aero features, ask questions, meet a dude or two... and I take pics of the dust that settles on my car (aero hints) and video of dust in my car's wake. This year I will bring a telescope for the star gazing entertainment. Maybe I will camp in the car, too.

My page here at EM has some photo albums from previous trips. Taught my then 10 year old daughter to drive during a visit to Bonneville in 2012. She can always boast that she learned to drive on the salt.
