I had to go to Iowa for work yesterday, so I thought I'd stop in on the Caucus process last night and see how all that worked.
I didn't have any expectations, so I stopped by some Democratic offices and found out where to get some caucus results. I stopped by Hillary's press-central area at a Des Moines hotel downtown.
I went in, obtained a guest pass, and monitored the process. I hung out for a while and spoke with locals and campaign staff as the results came in. They then announced that Hillary, along Bill and Chelsea would be giving a speech in the "Ballroom" after the 3rd place finish. I headed right over to that room immediately.
No one was around, so I went straight up to the front of the barricade.
Long Story Short I got to meet Hillary and President Bill Clinton! I haven't made a full decision on who to vote for, but just by happenstance, I got shake hands with these powerful individuals. I have to say, whatever you may think of him, Bill has a commanding presence and charisma that's just amazing. I think Hillary took the 3rd place finish well and carried the crowd with tremendous enthusiasm. I got to snap some good photos up front...

I'm excited to see what happens in New Hampshire. I think it's groundbreaking that a Black man won the Iowa Democratic Caucuses. History in the making. Hopefully times are changing for the better.
