I'll worry about the Toyotas when I see them in the dealer lots.

IIRC, these Toyota seem to answer a new japanese law like the Kei car one but they are presented with a very low top speed, something like 35 mph when a Renault Twizy offer a 55 mph ability (and it's already on the street too)

I don't see how this could even compare to the Elio.

Neither do I. The Elio seems more suitable for all-around traffic, while this one looks more like an NEV.

That seems perfect for Toyota City, going into town, maybe light city commuting (if you can't afford a bicycle?) while Elio seems like a car alternative.

If Elio does produce their vehicle for $6500 it will be a miracle.
I don't think any of the large auto makes would even consider getting into the market if Elio was successful.

"as a car-sharing program in Toyota City." In other words, not really "production". I'll believe it when I see one for sale here. Same with elio. Nice idea, but I have major doubts it'll ever get off the ground. See Aptera.

...the only comparison made is the three-wheeled configuration, whether it is a ride-share platform, leased or purchased we only hope it really comes to the practical production numbers and allows us to take it for a spin or even live with.

Ah, my bad. The way you wrote it I thought you meant Elio would not be successful if Toyota brought these here first. I was thinking you meant the i-don't like bicycles device would make the Elio pointless, and it (Elio) wouldn't sell because the i thing is here.
