Last fall they said no 5 speed but a tiptronic type auto unless you have a more current update on that. One tranny would keep the price down.

Best of my information is that that's old stuff. That being said I sure haven't seen a new engine or matching transmission of either type yet. I don't understand how they can claim 84 mpgs without either. I was told they had met the mileage specs with the old metro engine and transmission . Would like to see the data sheets on those tests.

Well, if it is old info, they need to update their web site.

They are out touring with this new P4 vehicle (which is apparently a standard way to name this stage of development). It lacks thinks like some of the reflectors and marker lights.

Time for me to subscribe to this thread. I barely missed the tour date for my area. Would have loved to see it in person.

Yes I agree about their web site. I had the joy of sitting the "P3". I want one. Now how to make it with a detachable roof for a quasi convertible.

Actually, I wonder about a glass/polycarbonate/removable roof piece. Keeping the frame solid, but making it like a giant sun/moon roof. That would be wicked.

Good idea!

Word from Eliomotors is that the new engine a transmission will be installed in a prototype for summer. MPG ratings are computer models and "very accurate".

Oh boy ... more prototyping.

It's loremo all over again.

The - understandable - urge to make it better still, must take second place to the urge to get it to the market once you've got a feasible product.

Better is for the next product version.
Imagine if VW never introduced the Golf 1 for want of making it better ... do you thing they'd have ever built the current Golf 7
