To make that claim we need to know the subsidies of ethanol AND petrol.

So the subsidies may be gone but inlace the government mandates people buy ethanol. That's actually even worse.

E10 is there to fix the air, doesn't really matter where I live airs fine, CA need it, better E tha MTBE. Until we kill the farm bill (which I don't fully understand, I think it should be gone, farms are small and large businesses, let them live and die like any other, but they are the small fish in the big pool of ADM's etc... Corporate taxes should be 0%. I heard today the R's talking 5%, that's a start but 0% would be better. Our goverment is controlled/influence by lobbiest and getting bought. Take away any reason for lobbiest to buy them(tax laws), take way the influence.

All corporate taxes are pushed down to the final consumer anyway, might as well know and see a sales taxes of 18%.

Exactly what is needed. It's so simple, even a caveman can do it. It would free up a lot of wasted effort in fields such as the IRS, CPA, tax attorneys, and lobbyists.

Politicians would then be forced to focus on the interests of the people.

I hope to live to see a federal sales tax.

I am unsure about that part.

I think that it is an interesting idea, but I think that I will go and ask Reddit about it. I do not want to get involved in another thread here that gets locked.
