Riders should have the option of 'no helmet', BUT> > > they should have to post a bond of maybe $1 million to cover the care needed for major head trauma.

SO, ANYWAY, raise your hand if you need the government to tell you where to poo. I would think that most of you who are for mandatory helmet laws are for many many laws up until they infringe on you. You assume that you are for legislation that only affects those dumber than you, because you are so brilliant. Most of the time I see this it is with a person that is all for infringing on others rights as they express so little rights themselves. They dont have hobbies that laws affect, they dont recreate in any way that laws infringe. Give me a week hanging around you and I will come up with some laws that will keep you so much safer, I will practically save your life. You will thank me after I am done, I am sure.

I vote no on life support, cost too much. No on premature babies. No on stupid people. Well, what do you think about that? Offended, I hope someone is.
The babies don't have the power to decide their fate. But that other stuff sounds pretty good

Stupid people apparently dont have the power to decide their own fate, so what is the difference?

I was mocking the position of those that are far advanced legislation to save people from themselves and their free thought. Dont worry, I like babies enough not to kick them.

How about a mandatory intelligence level to breed? All of the polititians would go extinct!!!

How much do premature babies cost society? Should we mandate that they should die if they cant survive on their own. Let the insurance company decide weather to pull the plug and send the bill to the mother!!!
Could we also bring back the strap for unruly teens and thugs? Beat some sense into them!!!!

Helmetless should = Insuranceless... enjoy your giant medical bill!!!

It would probably be an issue. I mean, unless having fewer people on the roads suddenly made numbskull riders w/o helmets behave like responsible citizens. Just like preemies and people who may be genetically predisposed to something, although I haven't heard about tests for most of those, it's also a moral issue. If we had some sort of "helmet" for preemies then it would probably be used too.

There's much bigger fish to fry if folks are worried about their pocketbooks. I.e. the people causing the accidents.

For lack of defenses:
Next on the hit list will be motorcycles
then little cars
then medium cars
then SUVs
and we will all be legally coerced to drive tanks.

Thanks all my eco buddies for really thinking this one through...

How much damage to other people/property does the average motorcyclist do compared to a car in an accident? Your lucky if the car even stops long enough to take responsibility.

Shoot, before ya know it, we'll all need Bagger 288s, then Nimitz class aircraft carriers, then Galaxy class starships, then Dyson spheres, then a few Dyson spheres, after that a Dyson galaxy, then a Dyson universe, then a Dyson multiverse, then something else! Where will it end? We may even need a Possum. One. Possum. Imagine what the implications could be!
