Wind power is viable in the Netherlands, and could eventually be supplemented by the usage of seaweed oil as an alternative fuel.

If any one was going to figure out a way to commercially make sea weed into some kind of liquid fuel it would be japan. They have some of the best technology, smartest people, little if any fossil fuel resources, almost all the population and industry are with in 20 miles from the ocean, have tons of infrastructure to move material and tons of sea weed washes up everywhere.

In merica they are building up to 1500 mega watts of wind and will be the largest wind farm on earth. Then the second and 3rd largest wind farms on earth will be between here Amarillo and sweetwater TX.

Range anxiety is really going to be an issue. Not to mention the challenge for transcontinental road trips...

Since fish is the most popular animal protein source consumed in Japan, fish liver oils could also become valued as an energy source alongside seaweed there. Marine farming would be a viable option, much like it is in Chile.
