Flat Metal Wheel Covers
This has been a holy grail for lots of us here on EcoModder - has anyone found a flat metal disk wheel cover? Preferably with screw/metal fasteners?
I have owned the domed stainless covers, which have more drag than flat ones, and the spring fastened units always fail.
We just got 16" steel wheels with Nokian Hakka R3 winter tires, for our Bolt EV, and wheel covers would help the range, and help keep snow and schmutz out of the wheels.

I assume you mean something manufactured and not pizza pans and zip ties, correct?

The least of their problems. And it's an effect of the glancing light.
If I have wheels I want to drill holes in, I could fold aluminum disks over the old holes and drill through that to effect a repair.
Pizza pans are flat, Moon or Speedway disks are convex to stiffen them.

I would just drill new holes, those were $5 right?

The problem is the wheels. The Dasher has 14" cast wheels (Ronal R-8), and I don't want to drill the Marathons.
One repair might be to braze aluminum plugs in the holes and as you say drill new ones in between. But then they'd need planishing because they're covered in small dents that would show when they're spinning.
For now they're swap-meet parts. I might double my money!

I think I am going to get some Mooneyes, with Dzus hardware:

I am trying to decide between flat ones, or with a 1/2" dome. I don't know if the valve stems with fit behind the flat ones; and whether the 1/2" dome will be more durable.
You have to also buy the Dzus hardware; which is $85 for a set. So, not cheap - and hopefully they will last, and not fall off.
