I fill up on payday every two weeks. That works pretty well as a balance. My guess gauge doesn't quite work so I try not to push it too far.

You can sometimes find aftermarket tanks with added capacity I don't think they're terribly expensive, plus they're usually lighter so you might make up for the additional fuel weight with the reduced tank weight.

Here is a thought for forced fuel savings..
Drive with a slipping clutch like I'm doing in my Vibe. You can bet I'm pushing her mighty easy. Eliminates bump starts on eoc however but I still do a little and just key it up. Been playing with a little more dfco instead in the meantime.
