European 5-seater version...
The concept of the "conbi" is good, but the Fester version didn't sell all that well due to cr@p engines - NA Diesel, and a not very good one at that. Pickups don't sell in Europe due to the contents usually being removed without the owner's permission. There is a new craze for "crew cabs" with w@nker names - Warrior, Animal, Invincible etc - usually driven by overweight, balding middle level executives with a cowboy fixation.

This problem also happens here. BTW tell us about that 1.4L turbodiesel Fiesta which delivered an impressive fuel-efficiency in a recent test back there in the U.K.

Do you mean this ?

Fancy driving from Reading to Birmingham using less than one gallon of fuel? Well you could if you emulated the winning drivers of this year's MPG Marathon, whose Ford Fiesta Econetic 1.6 TDCi recorded 108.78mpg.

Former rally drivers Andrew Marriott and Andy Dawson beat their nearest rival by more than six miles per gallon in the annual celebration of frugal driving.

The ALD Automotive/Shell FuelSave MPG Marathon is a test of fuel consumption for showroom vehicles, which also demonstrates the financial benefits of simple, smarter driving techniques. This year's 370-mile route took in the hills of South Wales and the Cotswolds, with some challenging weather conditions thrown in.
They got the highest overall, with another Diesel second. A Citroen C1 (or maybe a 107 - both same as George ) won the prize for most over the government test rating.

Apparently the 1.6 Fester has a "Plastic" engine according to the trade - it "expires" quicker than the 1.4.

Hey pal, watch your mouth!
I kid, it was the only one I could find with a manual transmission and under a billion miles on it. I would have preferred the 4-door hatch. It is kind of sad how the U.S. steadfastly refuses reasonable economy cars on such a regular basis... at least until now that gas prices have risen.

You still have to hit an American in the wallet to make him think.

My apologies. Beauty (or otherwise) is in the eye of...

Edit. I don't think we even got the 1.5. The latest one here still has the option of the 1.0.

Edit 2. Also still no sedan.

I drool over the thought of a 1.0. I would have bought one in a heartbeat were it an option. Looking at other users in Europe who have them, and comparing gas mileage makes me a sad Panda.
But hey, 40something is not too shabby. I'll muddle through somehow :P
