Ford FoCus & Ford Fiesta Dual Cluth Dry

FYI
Autoline After Hours had interview with Detroit Free Press writer and the following issue was discussed

Ford Motor company has limited admitted to a design and possible application issue with Ford Focus & Fiesta dual clutch transmission. The short story is these tranny will fail without notice and leave your vehicle inoperable …..So buyer beware as well as current owner of the vehicle. A couple of large lawsuits out there and Ford international too...Consumer have complain and Ford initial response was nonexistent or nothing.

Somehow DCT trannies keep having problems.
Honda used a smart setup with a DCT gearbox on the current gen Jazz/Fit Hybrid, but it had so many problems that it never made it out of Japan. VW had problems, and many others.
I don't consider the Ioniq hybrids as they also use a DCT. The Ioniq EV doesn't so that's a candidate.

VW dsg's had problems when they came out 14 years ago, but they are perfectly reliable now. I've been a tech with vw since 13 and it's very rare to see a dsg made this decade have problems, and I'd say the majority of the ones that do is due to poor maintenance.
