Ford hybrid battery timer

2010 - 2012 Ford hybrids: Fusion, Milan, MKZ have a hybrid battery timer that disables hybrid operation after 10 years.
Ford knows, but isn't saying anything:

Some 2010-2012 Fusion hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), 2010-2011 Milan HEV and 2011-2012 MKZ HEV vehicles may experience reduced electric vehicle operation and increased gasoline engine operation. Do not attempt repairs at this time. Engineering is investigating, monitor OASIS for updates.

During years 8 and 9 the hybrid function decreases operation in at least 3 stages. Finally getting to the point that the IC engine runs any time the car is in forward motion, regardless of state of charge.
