Found this thread discussing the old option of 'Long Life Mode' that has never been an option on my Leaf.

I think it covers a battery at 8 bars or less before 8 years or 100,000 miles.
When I was looking for mine a leaf with a replaced battery and full bars only cost around $2,000 more than one with multiple bars gone.

Back in the day the Leaf came with "Long life mode" as a default setting. This limited charge to 80%. The EPA downgraded the range of the leaf to an average of the default and max charge, to 90% of the max range. They claimed that many owners would not know how to change the default setting, and would therefore never get the claimed range.

Instead of changing Long Life Mode to default off, they simply eliminated the feature in 2014+ models. Probably a marketing thing too, since long life mode implies that charging to 100% will not give you long life.

Reminds me of a conversation I had at Best Buy once where the employee was giving me the hard sell on "black tie protection", which is just an extended warranty. I asked why I needed it, and he said if I didn't buy the extended warranty then as luck would have it, the product would break tomorrow. I told him I'd just return it if it broke tomorrow. Then he said that actually it would break after the 90 day return window. "Why are you selling me crap then?", I asked. He stopped pressing me to get the stupid extended warranty.

Had the same argument with the "closer" at the last car dealership I bought a car from. Him: What if something happens after the 3 year warranty?
Me: Do you think something would go wrong that soon?
Him: No, but it could.
Me: Well your sales guy just told me this is one of the best cars Ford has ever made and should easily last ten years.
Him:Blah, blah, blah.
The car is 15 years old now. Only minor issues that I repaired and they were well known issues that Ford was aware of and somehow got by without a recall.
Gotta love the sales guys.

Should be under warranty, but the seller sounds like a dope. Either they aren't being upfront about the vehicle, or they're too stupid to realize it's eligible for warranty replacement. Either seems equally likely given the absurdness of the posting.

Who lists where a vehicle can't go in an advertisement? My car can't go to Alpha Centari, shall I continue to list the other solar systems it can't visit?

Someone please remind me to mention the car cannot drive to Alpha Centari the next time that I try to sell one.

Reminds me of a cubby in my Acura labeled "Not an ashtray". Makes me laugh because they could have written "Not a giraffe".

Next time I introduce myself to a stranger, I'll say "nice to meet you, my name isn't Doug".

To select long life charging just set the charge timer and select 80% charging.
