Smile FTC finally sues one of the "water gas" scammers

I was wondering when they were going to get around to doing this. Their biggest challenge was probably deciding which of the hundreds of "eligible" parties to prosecute!

Ironically, the Google ads on this page will probably show you more by the keywords it picks out...

From the US Federal Trade Commission web site:

FTC Sues Promoters of Bogus Fuel Efficiency Device

Ads Appeared in Major Magazines Promising to Turn Any Car Into a Hybrid

Quote:
At the request of the Federal Trade Commission, a federal court has temporarily halted the deceptive advertising campaign and frozen the assets of an operation claiming its device can boost automobile gas mileage by at least 50 percent and “turn any vehicle into a hybrid.” The Commission is seeking a permanent ban on the ads and a further order providing reimbursement to customers who purchased the device.
Oh happy day!

You put water in, and "magic" comes out, which enables your car to get 127mpg

FTC must not have heard that you have to put magnets on the fuel lines for those things to work LOL

Ha! Funny you should say that:

Quote:
The FTC asserts the defendants’ advertising campaign has used pseudo-scientific explanations to describe how their device purportedly works. For example, according to the papers the FTC filed, the promoters of the HAFC have claimed that the device uses electricity to turn plain water into “water gas” that has five times the potential energy of gasoline, and that it uses powerful magnets to ionize gasoline so that it burns more completely.

I think its a shame the FTC chose the people that used magnets with their device because now all the water to hho proponents will say they only did it because everyone knows magnets don't work.

I am a former Dealer with Dutchman Enterprises, LLC. While attempting to find an answer as to how to make the Hydro Assist Fuel Cell work I found a Hydrogen-On-Demand invention that really does work! Anyone interested?

Out of the woodwork!

I'm only interested if the mason jars are less expensive than Ryland's.

PS - ConnClark: funny.

I was on a Fuel Economy forum a while back that had several of the Grand Poo-Bahs on the board pushing those for $1,500 installed.
Needless to say that board is almost completely dead now.

They use to say how every one of these systems they installed was giving the owners 25-50% better gas mileage. Yet not one poster on the board was a customer of any of these guys. So where did all these happy phantom customers come from?
Yep that is what we all started thinking, and moved right on to other more legit fuel economy boards.

Oh another scam by Mr. Dennis Lee shut down.
