I own a Suzuki Ignis DDiS 2005 model. It has a 1.3 L diesel engine, actually a fiat 1.3 L multijet engine, same also as in Opel/Vauxhall Corsa C 1.3 cdti. My car has a pre installed two-din blaupunkt head unit and an multi information display. This dispaly indicates information from radio and cd player, clock, outside temperature and has a non-working mpg or l/100km meter (gauge).
According to suzuki owner's manual, this instant fuel consumption gauge works only in petrol engined models and dosnt work in diesel models and it can get activated from a head unit button. In my car when i m trying to activate it, nothing happens, and the part of multi information display that is dedicated to fuel consumption meter doesn't even lights out, it is totaly non-activated.
I 've read very carefully the Ignis service manual for petrol and diesel models. While i was reading the ECU (ECM) wiring diagram, i realized that petrol models have an output coming from ECU which has the description "Fuel cost meter in multi information display". Diesel model has a different ECU which doesnt have this output. Also, when i plugged out the multi information display and looked at the backside, there is a muti-terminal connector and the cable that is supposed to be dedicated to "Fuel cost meter output" terminal, coming directly from ECU, is missing in diesel model.
In Ignis service manual, at petrol models section, it mentions about this Fuel cost output":
PHP Code:
0-2 V - 13.5-14.8 V
Engine running at idling with after warming
up.
(Output signal is 3.33 Hz duty pulse.
Duty ratio varies depending on vehicle
condition.)
Ok, for some reason(s), diesel engine ECU doesn't offer such an output. My question is if i can use any interface to "construct" a 3.33 Hz fuel cost pulsed output for my multi information display and use it normally, so i won't get an extra display.
I forgot to say that ECU is a Magneti Marelli MJD 6JF without CAN bus protocol.
I have read many articles about OBDuino, MPGuino and releated systems, but i didn't find any information to drive me get just only an instant fuel consumption output for my pre-installed, factory fitted, multi information display. Most of articles, post, etc, mention about DIY a complete solution (interface, OBD plug, mainboard and extra display.
Can anybody help me please?
Any extra information, diagrams etc can be requested.
The attachments are from petrol engined suzuki ignis. I can post files for diesel engined also.
Thanks in advance..
