Fuel cut

New Here,

Not sure if i am in the right section.

So I decided to bite the bullet and install a fuel cut today. I use a brake light switch mounted bellow the right horn button on my civic. Fabricated a holder and mounted to the cruise control mounting location. I used 2 wires from the clock-spring which allows for wheel mounted switch. Grabbed the two wires at the bottom of steering column and extended over to the main relay. Then I cut the 2 ground wires on the main relay and attached. Works like a charm with no CEL. Tried on the way home from work and was pleased with the modification. Looking forward to the next tank of gas. Might just refill and start fresh Monday.

LMK.

Wow, you're a Nut! This sounds great. So am I understanding that if you go to beep your horn on the right side of the steering wheel, it doesn't beep the horn and your engine quits? Or did you mount a whole separate switch and your horn beeps with either switch without stopping the engine?

Perfect place for the post btw. & welcome to ecomodder.

The horn switch is always open (switch to ground), so it and the cruise switches were out. Had an extra brake light switch which served the always closed circut I was looking for. Yes, seperate switch used and both horn buttons are operational. The idea was to locate the fuel cut on the steering wheel and utilize the factory harness as much as posible.
