It's only just recently that I can even look at the beast.I was going to take a year to 'think about it.'
'quess the healing process is going better than anticipated.
The other 'driver' in the equation is the T-100.At 314,000 miles I need to 'finish' the project before the truck gives up the ghost,and I lose the data base.
I'll chip away at it.I bought some steel the other day,I've got bits and pieces laying around waiting.
I'll do the repairs along with pulling the gap-fillers together to complete the concept.
If I can find a way to fit speed-rated wheels/tires to the trailer I'm also going to see if Southern Cal. Timing Assoc. or Utah Salt Flats Racing Assoc. will let me run the 'rig' flat out at El Mirage or Bonneville.
An accurate top speed would tell a lot about the Cd.
If videographer Bill Bernstruch could capture footage at El Mirage,it would be as good as smoke in a windtunnel.The dry lake is very dusty and it makes it really easy to visualize the wake.
We'll see.

Lol, I don't think I'd ever want that on the back of my truck, but to each his own. It's still an impressive job.

After reading this entire thread I am sad that the trailer was damaged and glad no one got hurt. I was secretly anticipating a happy ending to the story but see that the trailer must not be finished yet. aerohead, do you have an update?

toxshox,I had hoped to drag the trailer to Bonneville,Battle Mountain,and the West Coast,beginning Sept. 10,but there is so much to do to the T-100 it's going to have to wait even longer as it looks like it will take all available time just for the pickup.
The upshot will be that the truck will be for all intents and purposes,'finished.'
And I should have about 5,000+ miles of new baseline data with the final mods to compare later.
Also,everything I'm doing to the truck should enhance the onset flow to the trailer,giving it the best chance for success.
The waiting is really difficult but I don't see any major changes to income and fabrication time,so I'll just have to go with it.

If a careless driver hit your trailer and totaled it how would that persons insurance determine how much to pay you for it? Or would they bring it to an auto body shop and have them spend a lot of and money to rebuild it it no matter how messed up it was? Would they fix any damge to the main truck and you do the same work again yourself on the modifications and trailer an bill the hours to their insurance company or would they have to do it all? Is your truck with modifications appraised for higher than the blue book value in case the insurance company would want to write it off and give you a small check?

Last night a big old car just pulled out in front of my car from a side street without looking. I slammed on the brakes and swerved around in a split second between that car and an oncoming pickup truck missing them by a couple of inches at most. It was all reaction. That got me thinking.

Aerohead...

Just got my T-100's front end aligned this evening with Firestone's lifetime alignment with their Sep 1-30, 2010 10% off coupon fer an out the door price of $134.26. Major difference in driving. Hope you find the time to have yer T-100 checked/aligned while yer out there. I think it will make a major improvement if you haven't had it done lately. I should've done this before I made my major run out West.

Talk about timing, tonight by father rear ended a geo prizm. The front bumper on his tundra was bent in 7 or 8 inches and the grille cracked. The back of that car was seriously crunched up with alot more damage. Fortunately no-one appeared hurt and was walking around fine, at least till an hour lated when the police finally showed up and all three guys in the car suddenly needed to be taken away on stretchers for neck/back injuries...
