The future of autonomous 'driding', now?!
Either a fake stunt or maybe a real instance of 'drive+riding' = driding, in an autonomous vehicle. Someone taking a nap whilst going to their destination.

Here is the system working perfectly:

I like the idea of computer dirving, don't get me wrong. But I could tell that is what the bucket truck was going to do 30 secs before the computer had to make an emergency manuever. I could see he was blind on that side and that he was making a move for the exit. I wouldn't have needed any emergency maneuver as I would have been in front of or behind him.

Agreed. But you and I were primed to find the truck that would violate te Tesla's lane. Though we should not be lulled into driving stupidity, probably both of us are occasionally surprised on the road. Our machines could be tools to back up our judgement.

That's why V2V communications 'connected car' would be an important part of the regular vehicle, semi-autonomous and fully-autonomous universe. This too would be embattled as they fight for standardization.

My wife often seems surprised while I'm driving, "That car just cut you off!, Moron, he almost wrecked us!"
I'm like, "I left him just enough room, I could tell he was looking to do that the last minute ever since we left the last stoplight."
Point is rarely am I surprised while driving. Actually in a dual lane on ramp with an exit immediately following, the only thing that would surprise me is if somebody didn't make a stupid move. The autonomous vehicle should also anticipate it and stagger itself from the lanes besides or even 2 lanes over.
